20th May 2010-DAY 1
Destination 1: SINGAPORE CHANGI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT 新加坡樟宜机场

We arrived Changi airport at 11am to attend the briefing and also to collect all the relevant documents from the friendly jet star personnel. So what was our feeling at that time?

Eileen: Wow, jet star so good lol unlike others airline. I think my heart is pumping at its full max now!! So excited!! OMG!!

Weiling: Can you believe it Eileen! So everything is real ha-ha! We are dame lucky la.

Eileen: Definitely, we shall spend a great time there!

The sight from the top of the world...

Destination 2: TAOYUAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT 桃园机场

After 4hr 15 min, we finally arrived at Tao-Yuan international airport at 7pm in the evening. Even though we were 30min behind schedule, we were still excited about the fact that we have landed in Taiwan. It was a never before experience for the both of us as, this is the first time after N times of daydreaming we have landed in Taiwan. Eileen is immersing in her double happiness as this was her first time taking a flight and visiting Taiwan. Deep down we were shouting TAIPEI HERE WE COME!!

Destination 3: HOTEL 8 ZONE 八方美学商旅

Before we even talk about this hotel we would like to comment on their good services that they have given us. Firstly, the hotel staffs were very friendly and have take good care of us when we arrived at Tao-Yuan international airport. When we clear the checkpoint we were so lost but luckily we were spotted by the hotel staffs and they have welcome us with open arms.

Secondly, despite the fact that Taiwan was a Chinese speaking country, the staffs have tried their best in delivering clear message to us in English. Thank you for the effort that they have put in.

Lastly, they have made our trip to the hotel interesting by chatting with us on the bus and providing us delicious refreshment. The most wonderful services that they have provide us is that they have help us check into the hotel before we , their courteous team is able to direct us in the need to find the location, this allow us to have more time exploring Taipei. They provide service that we have never experience before and already casting a wonderful impression on us about Taipei.

On the shuttle bus that they provide...here are all the 10 teams with the hotel staffs
Let's take a look at the wonderful hotel room that they had provide us to stay in...

Destination 4: XI MEN DING 西门丁

The Red House 西门红楼, was one of the attraction in 西门丁that was build in 1908. The red house is a western style red brick octagonal structure and is Taiwan first public market and the most well preserved lll historical site.

The entrance design took on the 'eight trigrams' known as ‘bagua’ and also a cruciform shape parallel by the east and west and this forms 'The Red House'. In The Red House, we are able to experience and learn about the history of Taiwan.

西门丁, a shopping haven. When we saw the crowded streets and tons of shop, we know that we would never want to leave this place, not until we have finish visiting all the shops. However, our time was limited as most of the shops in 西门丁 closed at 10pm, but the shopping we have done within the last 2 hours was unbelievable.

We had their 炸鸡块, Milk tea, fruits, sausages and many more!!!

Just when we were about to go back to the hotel we notice that a lot of push carts starting to appear out of no where. We were indeed very surprise with what we have saw and without hesitation we were once again shopping for more stuffs and eating non-stop. We bought and taste all kinds of snacks that we are able to find along the streets.

The most memorable situation that we have experience is when we saw all the push cart start packing and running from the police. Ha-ha that would definitely be something that we would never encounter back in Singapore.

An interesting experience would be when we are ordering
葱油饼, while waiting for the 葱油饼 to be ready the uncle started pushing his push cart away. We were like "what happen the uncle dun wanna sell le huh?” After like 5 minutes the uncle push back to us and started telling us about him running from the police just now. We were thinking of how tiring and hard their life was for hiding and running from the police everyday. Despite, the experience is still memorable and unique, hope that there will be more of such experiences.
21th MAY 2010 - DAY 2
Destination 1: NATIONAL PALACE MUSEUM
国立故宫博物院

One of our mission, is to visit the National Palace Museum, we were given the ticket entrance to the museum for us to experience and learnt about the Chinese artefacts and artworks.

As we went on to explore the museum, we are able to discover the beauty of Chinese calligraphy, artworks, sculptures, paintings etc. In there, we are able to learn about the Chinese culture through the showcases and descriptions. The most interesting artwork that we encounter would be the meat stone and
小白菜玉 sculpture as it is very exquisite.

Destination 2: TAIWAN STORYLAND 台湾故事馆

A place where you will be able to find your childhood memories. Let's allow the pictures do all the talking...

Destination 3: WU FEN PU 五分铺

五分铺, another shopping haven that both of us love. It look like a bigger vision of our very own Bugis street but the best about 五分铺 is that most of the latest fashion clothing can be found in that place, furthermore the stuffs in 五分铺 are cheap and nice! That would definitely be the place where girls from all over the world would be crazy about. Not to mention the both of us, spending hours shopping and falling in love with 五分铺, this will definitely be our first choice when we want to shop again.

Destination 4: DAN SHUI 淡水

淡水a place we felt relax and be away from the city area. It is experiences of another side of Taipei and of course their traditional food that we have tasted there! It is a place where tourist can purchase some of their local product just as 铁蛋,鱼酥,猪血糖,啊给and many more. If you want to mix in with the local, 淡水 will be the place where you should never miss!
Despite the long travelling distance to
淡水, we still find it interesting and we will definitely come back to 淡水in the near future and of course going to the Thamshi Fishers Wharf 渔人码头 that we had missed out this time round.

Oh ya! We also did our portrait drawing here..lol

The night scenery of Thamshui...

Destination 5: SHILIN NIGHT MARKET 士林夜市

One had said this," If you have not been to 士林夜市, don't ever said that you have been to Taipei." So we are proud to say that we had been to Taipei! Unlike our Singapore pasar malam, 士林夜市 has it all! The things you can find there ranges from fashion to food. We even found some pets food that sold there, from there we can see that Taiwanese really love dogs and as we are able to find cute dogs and puppies along the street everyway we went! Interesting huh! We don't have to mention much about the food there, it is not only tasty but it is also a very tranditional Taiwan way of cooking. The size of 士林夜市 is way larger than what we thought of, due to our physical tireness we were unable to shop the whole 士林夜市 and that was very regretful and dissapointing. Notherless, we had enjoy ourselves in 士林夜市 and we have manage to know how nice the fruits in Taipei taste in 士林夜市. Oh yes, in our next trip to Taipei, we promise to spend every single night there.

22th MAY 2010 - DAY 3
Detination 1: TAIPEI 101
台北101

The world tallest building, recorded in Guinness world record and a famous attraction that Taiwan is proud with,
台北101! It has a total of 101 floors in this building and if you want a place to catch the best scenery in Taipei, Taipei 101 would definitely be the best choice.

Desiation 2: NEW YORK NEW YORK 纽约纽约展览购物中心

I would say that
纽约纽约展览购物中心 would be the place where most youngsters in Taipei hang out in. It is also a place where events are being held in. We were lucky to witness the standard charter vertical marathon held there. We have also visited some of the well-known shop in Taipei such as the IRELAND'S POTATO and CROWN LOYAL FANCY BAKERY.

OUR THOUGHT'S
Once again we will like to thank you, JETSTAR for giving us a chance to go visit Tapei for free!! We had gain many memorable experiences and have the chance to interact and know how kind Taiwanese are in directing us to locations and get the feel of their culture, this will definitely be one of the reason for us to want go visit Taiwan again!!!

Thank You Jetstar!!!!!!!!
